I have had a love-hate relationship with coffee for most of my life. Throw in hormones, stress and just life in general and it hasn’t always been kind to me. I’m not sure I realized how much the quality of the coffee I was consuming was actually to blame.
I decided to finally buy some toxin-free, organic coffee. My first try was a bust – good coffee, but not what I was looking for, as I wanted something to use with my Nespresso machine. The first coffee (Clean Coffee) was really not to blame as I quickly realized I needed espresso. I think it will make good coffee but I’m apparently not a drip coffee kinda gal. The next coffee I tried was everything I needed – organic, toxin-free, single-origin just like the first, AND it was espresso. It was whole-bean so it did need the extra step of grinding, but fortunately my husband bought us a nice big coffee grinder awhile ago that I was able to use.

Now, I just needed to get this new coffee to interface with my Nespresso. I’m all about making do with what you have, and even though my Nespresso is nearing a decade, I was not willing to buy a new machine. When I first got my Nespresso years ago, I had a friend who, instead of buying the name-brand pods, made their own. I went online looking for the tops that allow you to reuse old pods. What I found was even better than the coffee filter paper tops my friend had used, so I ordered them. You can check them out here. I like to compost my used coffee, reuse the pods, and recycle the used lids. Win win win!

I’m happy to report that they’re so effective, they’re a part of my morning coffee routine. I haven’t had any issues with my Nespresso, they’re easy to refill & seal with almost no mess. Oh and that espresso I ordered? Easily my favorite coffee! And it’s so nice that something so high quality in terms of “clean” foods is so tasty. You can check out the LIFEBOOST Espresso Beans here. And don’t forget a coffee grinder!
